Watercolor Workshop

I became familiar with Varvara’s work several years ago when my husband and I visited a local gallery and greatly admired her painting. Ultimately, we purchased an original watercolor of hers and it hangs in our vacation home. I e-mailed her about the possibility of doing workshops. Happily, she e-mailed me back with the opportunity to participate in what was the ABSOLUTE BEST painting workshop I have ever taken! Varvara has not only the ability to execute an exquisite painting, but also the unique ability to communicate and share her knowledge. All this, along with her availability to her students long after her workshops as a consult is invaluable. I highly recommend Varvara as a teacher and mentor. I will definitely continue to participate in any workshop she has because the amount of knowledge she has to offer is immeasurable.

I really enjoyed the workshop. Varvara's teaching skills are excellent, Varvara… you're always very patient, and very encouraging. It was wonderful to meet new people and look at their paintings. I look forward to another workshop with you real soon!!! As always, thank you for a great experience!

I leaned of Varvara's workshops from taking one of her Art classes at Michael’s. I had a fun and wonderful experience in the two-day watercolor workshop. I like the way Varvara teaches by example. Students watch her examples of the technique she is teaching, students then work independently. Varvara gives individual help to each student as needed. A Fun and relaxing experience!

Watercolor Workshop

The painting classes were not only the way to learn many techniques and intricacies about painting in acrylic from a very talented artist – Varvara Harmon, but they were also a time to dive in the world of color and beauty, and the thrill about the end result of the creative process. Also, there is lots of fun involved. Thanks Varvara!
Don’t hesitate to join!

I have learned so much in your class including a variety painting techniques, principles of composition, mixing color, learning to see light and shade and many aspects of acrylic painting. Every class is an adventure and time flies.

Varvara’s talent was immediately obvious when I first saw her paintings at Gallery 302. As time went on, I saw that she had amazing, multi-dimensional talent and every example of her work was done with exceptional artistic perfection. She is not only extremely creative, she has an innate desire to assist artist reach their full potential regardless their age. She has very good people skills, which are revealed as she persistently searches for ways to teach a painting concept so that it can be grasped by all her students.
She sets personal objectives for herself without room for failure and that philosophy carries over as she teaches. She assumes her students have similar objectives and she is not satisfied until a student can show they understand and appreciate the importance and value of the lesson assignment.
She teaches by having her students cluster around her while she demonstrates an important truth about the painting chosen for the lesson. She then has her students move to their easel to work on their own attempt of the same painting. She then moves among the students giving individual encouragement, instruction and advice as they work.
